The Medway Community Healthcare provides blood test (phlebotomy) services for patients registered with a Medway or Swale GP.

✅ How to Book a Blood Test

Blood tests are appointment-only.

You can book your appointment through their official booking system:

  • Book up to 6 weeks in advance
  • Choose from multiple clinic locations

📋 What You Need Before Booking

You must have:

  • ✔️ Blood test request from GP or clinician
  • ✔️ Blood form or F-number
  • ✔️ NHS number

Without a referral, the service cannot perform the test.


⏰ Important Rules

  • Blood tests are by appointment only
  • Service accepts patients with a Medway & Swale GP only
  • No reserved urgent slots — contact your GP if urgent testing is needed

🧪 Preparation (if required)

Your GP will tell you if fasting is needed:

  • Glucose test: fast 10 hours
  • Cholesterol/lipid test: fast 12 hours
  • Drink water before the test (helps blood draw)
  • Take normal medication unless advised otherwise
