The live load reaction on a pier of gravity type for the “one span loaded condition” shall be taken as half of the total EUDL for shear on the overall length of the span. For the “both spans loaded” condition where the spans are equal, the live load reaction shall be taken as one-half of the EUDL for the bending moment on a span equal to the distance between the outermost ends of the two spans under consideration.
